Yesterday, Marvel/Disney released its third trailer for the Avengers: Age of Ultron, and boy did it not disappoint. The trailer was awesome! The first takeaway from the trailer is that the trailer clearly sets up a darker, more serious movie, as opposed to the first Avengers movie. I think that the darker tone will allow for a major character to be “killed off.” The reason I put killed off in quotations is because blockbuster franchises rarely kill off important characters. However, I feel with the slew of new Marvel heroes coming in, killing off a couple of the original Marvel Cinematic Universe characters is a necessary condition. As far as Age of Ultron goes, I hope that Hawkeye gets killed. I am not a fan of the character at all, and lets face it, the character does not do much with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The second takeaway I got from the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer is that Iron Man is in some serious trouble. Throughout the two and a half minutes of run time, Tony Stark was getting blamed throughout. As expected, Tony did in fact create Ultron, sorry comic book fanatics, which is terrorizing the world. It will be interesting to see how he redeems himself, and if this movie sets up Captain America: Civil War in a direct way.
The third takeaway from the new Avengers trailer is actually a bunch of unanswered questions, which is a good thing. The biggest one being, how does Thanos fit into the picture. We know Marvel is releasing the Infinity Wars movies, so it’ll be interesting to see how Thanos makes his presence felt. Also, what role do the mutant twins play, Quicksliver and Scarlet Witch? My guest is that they start out as henchmen for Baron Von Strucker, as seen during the cut scene of Captain America: The Winter Solider, and eventually join forces with the Avengers during the third act of the movie.
What did you guys think of the trailer? Let me know how you think the movie will play out! Here’s a link for the trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAUoeqvedMo
